Officers responded to an assault on the 200 South block of 100 West in Ivins where Norush had allegedly assaulted a man, Ivins-Santa Clara Public Safety Officer Cory Norman said in his probable cause statement supporting the arrest.

After Norush allegedly assaulted the man with the hot dog/marshmallow cooker, Norman said the man retreated into a house to get away from her.

“Maria grabbed a 2×4, about 4 to 5 foot in length, and chased the victim into the house,” Norman wrote in the statement, “where they fought over the 2×4 and broke items in the house.”

Norman said the man had visible marks on his arm from the hot dog/marshmallow cooker and 2×4 that Norush assaulted him with.

It was not specified why Norush was attacking the man or what the relationship is between them.

Norush was booked into the Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility on Wednesday, where her bail was set at $5,000. She has since be released from custody.

Norush is scheduled to make her initial court appearance Tuesday.

Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.

Hey, when a guy is acting like a wiener, you have to defend yourself accordingly.

Dang! Now what was that lapse in judgement all about? Where can a guy find a worthy Dixie woman like that? Attacking the man with a hot dog skewer? What’s the hidden meaning behind that? Anyone remember Lorraine Bobbit? Well, you got the Dixie Deann trying to skewer some Ivins wiener. Had she roasted the wiener, well… fund raiser?

This story made me laugh. I’ll never be able to look at one of those things again without calling it a weenie-whacker.
