Soccer roundup: Road teams all win big on re-opening of region play

Rain and lightning washed out the first day of Region 9 play, but the season made a belated start Thursday night with the three road team kicking it for wins.

Desert Hills was impressive in a 7-1 win at Canyon View with Jessica Mathis scoring the hat trick. Kenzie Done added two more goals and Brittany Terry and Madi Hansen each notching a goal as well. DH is 3-1 overall and has scored 13 goals this season. Canyon View, 2-3, is at Pine View Tuesday.

Snow Canyon got a key road win that could have playoff implications down the road. The Warriors beat Pine View 3-0. Madi Mooring recorded the shutout in goal and Jenny Stewart scored all three tallies for the Lady Warriors, who are 3-2 overall. SC hosts D-Hills Tuesday. PV, 1-3, is at Dixie Tuesday.

Cedar blasted Hurricane 6-0 behind a shutout from Shay Bauman. Nicole Jenkins and Brooklyn Shakespeare each scored twice and Ashley Jenkins and Holly Carpenter also scored for the Lady Reds.
