Glen Thomas Imlay

(November 20, 1929 – August 10, 2014)

Glen Thomas Imlay was born November 20, 1929 in Hurricane, Utah to Francis (Frank) Wadkins Imlay and Idella Alvey Imlay.  He died peacefully in Cedar City, Utah on August 10, 2014.  He married Coleen Cowles on October 29, 1949 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Later they were sealed in the Manti Temple on January 10, 1955.

He was an active member of the LDS church and worked for many years in the oil field.  The last few years of his career were spent as a manager for Grant Oil Tool.  He also served his country in the Navy.  He loved the outdoors and spent many years enjoying camp ground hosting.

They are survived by their two children, Jerry (Louise) Imlay and Frankie Lou (Craig) Evans, 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and his brother Francis (Barbara) Imlay.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother (John Garland Imlay).

Funeral Services

  • Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 16, at 12 p.m. at the Escalante LDS Chapel, 80 South Center Street, Escalante, Utah.
  • There will be a viewing on Friday, Aug. 15 from 6-7 p.m. at the Cedar West Stake Building, 725 South 1100 West, Cedar City, Utah and on Saturday, Aug. 16 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Escalante Chapel prior to services.
  • Interment will be in the Escalante Cemetery.
