Judd, Robert obit(June 21, 1929 – July 30, 2014)

Robert Paul Judd, age 85, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2014, into the loving and waiting arms of his eternal companion of 59 yrs., Colleen Judd, and to whom he has anxiously been awaiting to return home to for the past seven years.

“Bob” was born in Los Angeles, California on June 21, 1929, to Paul R. and Alice Viola Judd and was raised along with his younger brother, Bill, in San Gabriel, California. While in high school he was a talented athlete, lettering in track and basketball and receiving many medals. When he graduated in 1947, he moved to Provo, Utah to attended BYU. While there he met Colleen Varley, a cute, petite and very popular high school senior. He waited for her to graduate, and then married her in the Salt Lake Temple on August 19, 1948. They were the proud parents of four children, two girls and two boys, and resided in Orem, Utah to raise their family.

Bob began working at U.S. Steel at Geneva at the age of 20 and at the time of his retirement at the age of 55. He was division superintendent of all steel production, product finishing and shipping. He was in charge of seven different mills and had a staff of 1,100 employees.

Bob and Colleen moved to St. George, Utah for their retirement years because of their love of the town they would always visit. But being bored and restless he decided to start up a business through Rex Williams of Salt Lake City, Utah, installing bathroom petitions, lockers and accessories. He has done a great number of installations in schools, churches, businesses, medical offices, hospitals and Temples in St. George and throughout Utah, Arizona, Nevada and California.

Bob was a strength to all, full of charity, through contributions and loving services in any way he could; he was always there at any time to help. He was blessed with wisdom and intellect and had a deep love for his family and provided well for them.

Surviving family include children, Joanne (husband Paul) of Leeds, UT, Susan Kae (husband Randy) of Calimesa, CA, Steven Paul Judd of Provo, Utah and  Norman Curtis Judd (wife Carol) of Salt Lake City, Utah; 21 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Bob is preceded in death by his loving wife, Colleen, his only sibling, William P. Judd and his parents, Paul and Viola Judd.
