UPDATE: At 8:30 p.m., Washington City Power reported power has now been restored to the Green Springs area except for the Millcreek Terrace neighborhood. They are still working on the issue.
UPDATE: At 5:55 p.m., Washington City Power reported the commercial area power has been restored and that they are still working on restoring power to the Green Springs residential area.
WASHINGTON CITY – A power outage interrupted service in the Green Springs area of Washington City Thursday afternoon, impacting traffic at the Buena Vista Drive, Red Hills Parkway and Green Springs Drive intersection.
As of 5:34 p.m., Washington City Utah Power reported they are still trying to assess the power outage situation and do not have an estimated time of when the power will be back on. They are also advising drivers to please be patient and safe in that area.
“The power outage caused a big, long mess getting through that intersection,” Washington City resident Jaqueline Lerner said. “It took me over 10 minutes to get through. Avoid that area if you can.”

I went through that intersection at about 4:30 pm and there was no power and/or police presence at all. It was scary trying to get through it. Glad to see it being handled by the police now. Everyone be safe out there. It is a crazy enough intersection to get through even with traffic signals in working order.
Stay safe officers. People might mow you down cause they got their licenses in a cracker jack box.
It’s more high tech now. They just print them in the basement.

I was at work when the power went off, but I got off at 4 anyway so no big deal right. I always take the freeway home, but the intersection sucked because of lights and traffic. So my husband drove the back road on riverside Dr. And a deer ran down the hill, a car hit it. The deer went in the air and dropped and rolled to the other side of the road! Holy cow! We stopped and called the cops. We could see the deer’s legs in the road. Cars were passing by and someone was going to run over it.we pulled to the otherside and blocked the deer’s body. It was knocked out but still breathing. The deer woke up, stood up and tried to run away but it dropped and rolled down the embankment a few feet and was laying there when the polic arrived. The car that hit it didn’t stop, didn’t swerve. It happened so fast but the car didn’t stop, my husband and I did. Dude or dudette in the white car a deer ran down the hill and made impact with your car. No way could you have seen that coming. But you didn’t you pullover, you just kept going. how’s your car?
What does this have to do with the power failure? Or the fact that my 94yr old Grandmother did not have A/C until the power was restored.
If it wasn’t for the power going out I wouldn’t have been on that road…it was not a pretty thing to see…has nothing to do with a 94 yr old grandma without power but thanks for sharing…sharing is caring
