Paul Walker Stevens, age 67, passed away at his home, July 3, 2014 after a brief battle from cancer. He was born October 8, 1946 in St. George, Utah to Charles Alma and Mary Walker Stevens and was the 10th of 12 children. Paul married Gay Lynne Goodrich on April 7, 1966. She died June 3, 2000. He married Penny Nelson on November 17, 2001.

Paul was raised in St. George and in his teenage years he moved to Salt Lake City to work but Paul lived most of his life in Las Vegas, Nevada before retiring to St. George in January of 2011. He worked in the Steel industry in Las Vegas for many years and had many hobbies and talents, including building race cars, deep-sea fishing, panning for gold, wood-working and riding four-wheelers. Paul loved to travel and he enjoyed spending the past few summers out of the heat and riding the dunes on the coast of Oregon.

Paul served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, step-father, grandfather and friend.

Survived by his wife, Penny; children, Wade (Delfina) Stevens, Larraine (Leonard) Faircloth, Phillip (Kelly) Stevens, Shannon (Lucas) Erickson, Mindy (Randy) Greenback, Grant (Alexis) Stevens, Kami (Shawn) Saunders; step-children, Janice (Stacey) Millett, Amber Langston, Brandon (Tiffany) Nelson, Clint (Jessica) Nelson, Derrick (Jackie) Nelson and Shon Nelson; four-wheeling buddy, James Langston; siblings, Lowell (Afton) Stevens, Easton (Peggy) Stevens, June Robison, Sharon Wetzel, Raphael (Karen) Stevens, Roseanne (Ed) Crews, sister-in-law, Betty Stevens; mother-in-law, Ramona Carpenter; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Dale Stevens, Donald Stevens, Leland Stevens, Raymond (Mary Jane) Stevens, Maralyn (Ron) Greenhalgh; brother-in-law, Lewis Wetzel.

Funeral Services

  • Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 9, at 11 a.m. in the Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, UT.
  • Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 9, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services.
  • Interment will take place at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Park, Boulder City, NV, on Thursday, July 10, at noon (NV time).
