ST GEORGE – The Washington County Drug Task Force arrested a Brookside man on charges of drug distribution Thursday afternoon.
Dustin Wolfgang Greenwalt has been the subject of a task force investigation since spring.
“The Task Force utilized a confidential informant to purchase heroin, on two separate occasions, from Greenwalt,” task force Capt. Kyle Whitehead said. “The confidential informant was sold heroin by Mr. Greenwalt. The transaction occurred both times within 1,000 feet of an LDS church, which means it was within a drug free zone.”
After the buys in the spring, the task force proceeded to finish putting the case together and arrested Greenwalt Thursday, booking him into Washington County’s Purgatory Correctional Facility.
He is being charged with two counts of drug distribution enhanced from a second degree felony to a first degree felony, due to the offense occurring in a drug free zone.
According to the county’s booking information, Greenwalt’s bail has been set at $40,000.
Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
