ST. GEORGE – One person was transported to the hospital and another person was arrested Sunday after a hit-and-run on Red Hills Parkway in St. George.

At approximately 6:53 p.m., a Honda passenger car and a silver truck were traveling eastbound on Red Hills Parkway when the driver of the truck veered off the road then came back and hit the car, St. George Police Officer Tim Linton said, causing the car to hit a large rock and crash into the median.

“It hit this rock and went up in the air and came back down pretty hard, Linton said. “It didn’t roll but it hit pretty hard.”

The man driving the Honda was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George as a precaution for minor back injuries, while the man driving the truck was arrested in the KFC parking lot and booked into Washington County’s Purgatory Correctional Facility.

Booking was pending as this report is published.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by the authorities and may not contain the full scope of findings.
