Flash flood warning issued for Washington, Kane counties

SOUTHERN UTAH – The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for portions of Washington and Kane counties. The warning will remain in effect until 11:15 p.m. Friday.

At 7:14 p.m., Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm was producing heavy rain over Zion National Park. Estimates indicated that up to an inch of rain had already fallen as of 7:14 p.m. The warning includes streams and drainages in Clear Creek and the north fork of the Virgin River.

Affected area

West central Kane County and east central Washington County (see map insert).
