SOUTHERN UTAH — The National Weather Service has issued a “Red Flag Warning” for much of Washington, Kane and Iron counties for wind and low relative humidity. This is a “critical fire conditions” alert in effect through Sunday evening for wind and low relative humidity.
Large portions of Iron, Washington and Kane counties, particularly the Color Country Mountains below 8,000 feet (see map insert).
Southwest winds 10-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
Relative humidity is expected to be down between 10 and 15 percent.
The combination of gusty winds and low relative humidity will create hazardous fire weather conditions where fuels are critically dry.
