CEDAR CITY – Police are seeking a suspect in connection with a convenience store robbery that took place early Friday morning.
Around 5:30 a.m., police officers responded to the report of a robbery at KB Express, 1944 N. Main St., according to a statement from the Cedar City Police Department. The suspect, described as a white male in his 20s, entered the store and got behind the counter. He proceeded to display a knife and demand that the clerk give him money from the cash register. He took an undisclosed amount of money and left the store.
The suspect then fled the scene in a four-door, gray or silver Honda sedan.
“Officers from the Cedar City Police Department and neighboring agencies searched the area looking for the suspect,” the official police statement said. “At this hour, police are continuing to evaluate the evidence collected at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.”
Suspect description: A white male in his 20s, last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
Police are seeking assistance in identifying and locating the robbery suspect. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Cedar City Police Department at 435-586-2956.
