PAROWAN – Blowing dust and zero visibility in the area of Parowan Friday afternoon gave rise to two multiple vehicle crashes on southbound Interstate 15 at mile post 94 just before 4 p.m., closing the Interstate for a period of time.
Utah Highway Patrol reported two crashes occurred simultaneously, the first involving six vehicles and the second involving seven vehicles.
There was only one serious but non-life threatening injury, UHP reported, with all the other injuries minor.
Southbound traffic was diverted for a time on a frontage road, while northbound traffic was delayed for awhile. Southbound traffic on I-15 in the area was reopened by 6:1o p.m.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
