Red Storm whitewash CSU-Los Angeles to complete weekend sweep

ST. GEORGE – The Dixie State University baseball team closed out its series with Cal-State Los Angeles with an impressive 11-0 shutout at Bruce Hurst Field Saturday. The impressive shutout completed a three-game sweep of the Golden Eagles.

Dixie’s lead climbed to 7-0 after seven.

The Red Storm scored their final four runs in their last at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. Drew McLaughlin drew a walk, then advanced to second on a Kata single to the left side. Austin Bartleson then reached on a throwing error, loading the bases. Kline doubled to left, scoring McLaughlin and Kata. Bartleson then scored on a sacrifice by Blair. Donald Glover then singled in Kline for the final run of the game.

Kody Christoffersen gained the win, allowing three hits over five innings, advancing to 5-2 on the season. Keller dropped to 1-5.
