ST. GEORGE – Panther Daniel Arellano scored twice to take Pine View to the win over Hurricane on Tuesday 3-1, handing Hurricane their first loss of the season. Both teams fought hard in the first half and by the time the referee blew the whistle for half time they were tied 1-1.
Tiger Noah Elison scored the goal for Hurricane, making his season total four goals in only six games. The Tigers fall to 4-1-1 while the Panthers remain unbeaten with a record of 5-0-2. Arellano and Braden Johnston scored for Pine View taking them to the 3-1 win. Arellano now has five goals in seven games, making him the leading scorer of Pine View. Johnston added to his goal total of four.
Pine View’s next three games are on the road, the first being Snow Canyon on Friday at 7 p.m. followed by Canyon View and Cedar the next week. Next up for Hurricane, they will host Dixie on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Snow Canyon 3, Canyon View 3
A tough-fought game remained tied after regulation, each team with three goals. Overtime periods remained scoreless and after a double overtime, the score remained 3-3.
Scoring for Snow Canyon were Branson Stafford, Casey Monson and Navy Dalton. Canyon View’s scorers were Chris Perez, Dallin Wicker and Payton Dolan.
Dixie 2, Desert Hills 0
Two goals in the second half were all Dixie needed for the win over Desert Hills. Jonathan Acosta and Alex Green scored for the Flyers while Hayden Mathews added a shutout to his record in their win on Tuesday.
Desert Hills will be playing at home against Cedar on Tuesday at 7 p.m. while Dixie will go on the road for Hurricane on Thursday at 7 p.m.
