Sylvia Jean Fraser Seegmiller has returned home to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father at the age of 68. She passed away surrounded by her family on March 8, 2014 in St. George, Utah. She was met by her husband Frank whom she so sorely missed.

Sylvia fought a long courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She never complained, whined, or asked, “Why me?” She fought her battle with faith, goodness, gentleness, righteousness, hope and love.  Sylvia was an example to all of us about enduring to the end. Sylvia touched the lives and hearts of so many people and will be missed by all who knew her.

Sylvia was born in Tremonton, Utah on November 11, 1945. Sylvia graduated from Bear River High School in 1964 and went on to attend and graduate from Utah State University with a degree in Business Education. On January 10, 1969, Sylvia married Garry Frank Seegmiller in Logan, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple.

Sylvia was very involved in community affairs. She worked as a staff assistant for Congressman James V. Hansen. She served on the St. George City Planning Commission as well as the Washington County Planning Commission. She was the President of the Republican Women’s Organization for many years. She loved spending time with her family going on camping trips, family vacations, picnics, and being involved in her children’s school programs.

Sylvia is survived by her father Keith M. Fraser of South Jordan; children, Colby (Brenda) Seegmiller St. George, T.J. (RaLinda) Seegmiller Cedar City, and Sydney (Nick) Child St. George; as well as her grand children whom she dearly loved, Megan, Adam, Seth, Ryan and Jaxon; brother in law, Dick Elliott of Magna; and sister in law, Sharon Gillespie of St. George.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Garry Frank; her mother, Nancy Ann Fraser; her sister, Annette Elliot; as well as many Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

Sylvia dearly loved her grandkids, and talked about how she did not want to leave them.
