ST. GEORGE – Two women were arrested Friday for alleged sexual solicitation and exploitation of prostitution.
St. George Police investigators responded to an online ad from a woman allegedly offering sexual acts for money and made arrangement to meet the woman at a hotel, St. George Sgt. Derek Lewis said.
Kayla Edwards, 22, of Los Angeles, and Malia Guerrero, 42, of Las Vegas, were arrested by the St. George Police Friday night. Edwards was identified by police as the one allegedly offering sex for money. Guerrero is accused of transporting Edwards from Las Vegas to St. George so that she could meet the individual who they believed had answered the online solicitation.
According to a probable cause statement, Guerrero denied knowingly transporting Edwards across state lines for the purpose of sexual solicitation. In exchange for bringing her to St. George, Guerrero said Edwards would pay for her gas.
Edwards was charged with a class-A misdemeanor for sexual solicitation and a class-B for not having a business license.
Guerrero was charged with a third-degree felony exploitation of prostitution.
Persons charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.

I just think this kind of thing is stupid. Arrest the men who pay for sexual favors, that’s the only way you’ll help stop prostitution and sex trafficking.
Neither should be arrested. It is a victimless crime.
I think it’s funny the gal got charged for not having a business license. How can you get a business license for an illegal business?
Meanwhile a Washington County sheriff gets off with a simple DUI arrest after crashing the County owned sheriff’s vehicle with his children inside. Anyone else would have gotten a slew of charges for that.
I saw the mugshots of these 2 gals, and they need to have a going-out-of-business clearance sale b/c I doubt anyone would pay retail for these unfortunate looking souls.
Didn’t the mormons once have a brothel near Central or Pine Valley?
I’m glad to see police finally cleaning up some prostitution here. This type of crime really brings a lot of other crap with it–drugs etc. Vegas can keep its working girls.
