MESQUITE, Nev. – A vehicle rollover in Mesquite Tuesday evening left a woman in critical condition.

Authorities received multiple reports of a traffic accident on West Pioneer Boulevard, just east of the Holiday Inn, around 7 p.m., according to a statement from the Mesquite Police Department.

Police arrived on the scene and found a car that had rolled several times. The driver was described as having sustained “extremely critical injuries.” She was trapped inside, and required immediate extrication.

Responding Mesquite Fire Department personnel were able to get the woman out of the car within four minutes of their arrival, according to the statement. She was taken to Mesa View Regional Hospital in critical condition, then flown to University Medical Center in Las Vegas via Mercy Air.

Her condition is unknown at this time. No one else was reported to be in the car at the time of the incident, and the cause of the accident has yet to be determined.

Since it was on the boulevard, there must have been a lot of excessive speed, if not alcohol, to roll multiple times like that.
