WARRIORS
snow-canyon-smCoach: James Brown

Streak: 2 win
Last Five: 3-2
PPG:
 58.0

THUNDER
Desert-Hills-smCoach: Wade Turley
Record: 8-6 overall, 3-2 in region
Streak: 1 loss
Last Five: 4-1
PPG: 52.1
PAPG: 48.9
Probable starters: Taylor Houston (7.5 ppg), Quincy Matthews (13.0), Brycen Williams (5.2), Trey Tanner (6.1), Landen Broadhead (4.2)
Other key contributors: Jordan Hokanson (6.8), Sam Messinger (3.9), Austin Adams (4.3), Max Mills (1.0)

Game Outlook: This is a huge week for the Warriors, who play third-place DH, followed by first-place Pine View, both on the road. Two wins would stamp an early claim on the region title. Two losses could mean a road playoff game later this month. Brown is pretty pumped by the contributions of Rigby and Anderson to support Gottfredson and Sampson. For the Thunder, any hopes at a region title rest in this three-game homestand (PV, SC and Dixie). Having already lost to the Panthers, this is a must-win game at home. Mathews got a lot of help in a blowout win vs. CV last week, but the shooting touch was not there against PV. That’s got to return to beat the Warriors.

Dixie (9-5, 2-3) at Cedar (7-7, 2-3), 7 p.m. at Redmen Gymnasium
Broadcast: 590-AM KSUB with Chris Holmes

FLYERS
dixie-smCoach: Ryan Cuff
Record: 9-5 overall, 2-3 in region
Streak: 1 loss
Last five: 3-2
PPG:
 55.4
PAPG: 50.2
Probable starters: RJ Wilgar (8.7 ppg), Sam Guymon (8.7, questionable), Harrison Labrum (4.9), Jake Hawes (13.4), Jake Christiansen (3.9)
Other key contributors: Izaic Blazzard (3.1), Tyler Bennett (5.4), Nate Crockett (2.2), Jayden Roberts (2.1)

REDMEN
cedar-smCoach: Craig Cardon
Record: 7-7 overall, 2-3 in region
Streak: 2 losses
Last five: 3-2
PPG: 51.0
PAPG: 47.5
Probable starters: Kordan Nielson (16.9 ppg), Dustin Staggs (13.2), Kyle Wood (5.6), Weston Bettridge (2.4), Greyson Hulet (2.7)
Other key contributors: Kole Dotson (1.9), James Thompson (1.9), Ben Brown (.4)

Game outlook: Region started well for Dixie with that win over Desert Hills, but the Flyers are 1-3 in league play since, including a surprising home loss to Canyon View last Friday. When you drop one at home, you’ve got to get one back on the road and this is the time and place for Dixie. It may come down to Dixie and Cedar for that last playoff spot, so that makes this game even more crucial. Dixie will have a hard time matching up with Staggs, who is a load inside. If the Flyers can hit from outside, they have a good chance to get a road win. One of these teams will be tied for fifth place when the night ends.

Hurricane (5-10, 1-4) at Canyon View (4-11, 1-4), 7 p.m. at the Falcon’s Nest
Broadcast: Power 93 FM

TIGERS
hurricane-smCoach: Todd Langston
Record: 5-10 overall, 1-4 in region
Streak: 4 losses
Last Five: 1-4
PPG:
 47.5
PAPG: 52.3
Probable starters: Kaden Langston (8.4 ppg), Jayce Housley (6.9), Cody LeBaron (12.6), Austen Beatty (5.3), Erik Mitchell (4.5)
Other key contributors: James Bennion (4.3), Jordan Ence (3.0), Austin Butler (1.3)

FALCONS
canyon-view-smCoach: Rob Potter
Record: 4-11 overall, 1-4 in region
Streak: 1 win
Last Five: 1-4
PPG: 49.7
PAPG: 58.3
Probable starters: Keaton Kringlen (8.3 ppg), Koy Huxford (9.3), Sterling Barnes (5.1), Derek Dunnell (3.6), Ty Nielson (4.5)
Other key contributors: Travis Bettridge (3.9), Ryan Jensen (3.6), Ty Hollerman (2.1)

Game Outlook: It’s only one game, but realistically, the loser of this game can just about kiss the playoffs goodbye. Whichever team loses would be five games out of first place and two or three games away from a playoff chance, with two or three teams in between them and that chance, so this is an important game. Strangely enough, both teams have beaten Dixie, which has beaten Snow Canyon and Desert Hills. But both Hurricane and CV have lost badly to DH, SC and Pine View. Hurricane’s big issue lately has been scoring, averaging just 41 a game in the last four. CV has the same problem, scoring just 42.6 in the last five. This game may not make it into the 50s.
