ST. GEORGE — An accident occurred on 700 South near the intersection of Cambridge Drive in St. George at approximately 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, forcing emergency personnel to divert traffic through the middle turning lane for approximately an hour.

Traffic had backed up on eastbound 700 South when a blue Jeep Cherokee rear-ended a white Saturn Outlook, St, George Police Officer Jamison Hale said.

The driver of the Cherokee was cited for following too closely, Hale said.

No injuries were reported, but St. George Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance Service were both called to the scene as a precaution.

The airbags were deployed in the Cherokee, and it incurred front-end damage and was towed from the scene. The Outlook had slight rear-end damage but didn’t need to be towed, Hale said.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by the authorities and may not contain the full scope of findings.

There are more “stupid” accidents in this small town than there is in a lot of bigger cities in Socal even with all those illegals there. WFT? with drivers here?

What’s with the Downwinders comment. Are you also implying that the Downwinders Syndrome and “just plain stupidity” are something equal? Still don’t get that comment.

Apparently I was having some problems with my keying in trying to reply to the article. So for the third time, I will try to key in what I wanted to say in the first place.

It’s because they feel special. They can drive however they want.
