Our son and brother, Kolbie James McCune, age 22, died Saturday, January 4, 2014, due to complications of depression.

20051001_333Kolbie was born in St George, Utah on July 20, 1991, to James Landon and Kelly Woodard McCune.  He was a lifelong resident of St George, graduating in 2010 from Millcreek High School.  Kolbie found joy in listening to music and teaching himself to play the guitar.

Though he often kept to himself, he was always open to his young cousins snuggling up to him to play video games.  And anyone engaging him in conversation would find someone of sharp intellect who often enjoyed challenging others’ ideas.  Kolbie spent much of his early life enjoying the outdoors with his family at the dunes or at the lake.

20131225_093708-1Kolbie is survived by his parents, James and Kelly McCune; sister Jessika; grandparents Roberta Woodard, Landon McCune, and Linda & Stephen Kirkham; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  His maternal grandfather Fla and uncle Kevin preceded in him in death.

What a beautiful young man. I am so sorry for your loss, but know he is not hurting anymore and is in a beautiful place. He still has a “front row” seat and watches over his loved ones. My love goes out to the McCune family.
