ST. GEORGE – A rear-end collision in the eastbound lane of Red Cliffs Drive near the intersection of East Ridge Drive resulted in minor injuries to two people Friday afternoon.
Around 2 p.m., a female driver of a blue Honda Pilot crashed into the rear of a silver Mazda 3 just as the light on East Ridge Drive changed to green and traffic began to move, St. George Police Sgt. Sam Despain said.
The driver and one passenger of the Mazda were transported as a precaution to Dixie Regional Medical Center. The driver of the Honda was not injured.
There was minor damage to the front of the Honda and to the rear of the Mazda. Neither car had to be towed from the area.
St. George Fire Department, Gold Cross Ambulance and St. George police department responded to the accident, which slowed traffic for about 30 minutes. The road was cleared at about 2:30 p.m.
The driver of the Honda was cited for following too close, Despain said.
