Game outlook: Nationally-ranked (#7) and undefeated Dixie is coming off a good showing in the Las Vegas Challenge where they held their opponents to an average of 62.5 PPG. According to Coach Judkins the team put together two complete games. Dixie was also able to rest 6th man Louis Garrett, who suffered an ankle sprain December 14th against Point Loma. Dixie’s inspired play does not bode well for the Vulcans under first-year head coach G.E. Coleman. UHH has lost five in a row. Joining Coleman as first-year contributors are 10 of the 14 players on the roster. The Red Storm have a definite advantage in size and the Vulcans have struggled against bigger teams. UHH utilizes several different full and half-court presses, substitutes liberally, and employ several good outside shooters. Dixie’s post players run the floor and have matched the quickness and agility when matched against smaller players. This is the first game of a three-game Hawaii road trip. On its last Hawaii trip two years ago, Dixie swept four games. UHH will be a good prep game before Dixie takes on Chaminade and Hawaii Pacific, who are both in the upper part of the Pacific West Conference standings.
STGNews Prediction: Dixie 88, UHH 65
