James Allen Logan was released from the Iron County Correctional Facility Friday by Fifth District Court Judge John Walton for a doctor’s appointment. He was to return by 6 p.m. and did not, according to a statement from the Iron County Sheriff’s Office released Tuesday.

Sheriff’s deputies are searching for Logan and believe him to currently be in the Las Vegas area.

“Logan is not believed to be a threat to the community at this time,” the Iron County Sheriff’s Office said in the statement. His current arrest is related to drug possession.

Logan is a 33-year-old white male of average build who stands 6 feet tall, and weighs 220 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Of various tattoos Logan has, one is of a skull on his right arm and another tattoo of clown on his left arm. On his right calf is a tattoo of a sun, and his name is tattooed on his back.

Anyone with information on Logan’s whereabouts is encouraged to call the Iron County Sheriff’s Office at 435-867-7500 or 435-867-7550.

Why would they let him go to a doctors appointment without a police escort? Sounds like judicial system isn’t too bright is it? The judge should have had an officer go with him especially if he is an inmate
