SOUTHERN UTAH – The National Weather Service has issued an extended “Winter Weather Advisory” for snow in southwest Utah in effect until 10 a.m. Saturday.

Affected areas – Southwest Utah, including Cedar City, Beaver, and Milford.

Snow accumulations – Forecast are 1-3 inches through midmorning Saturday.

Timing and impacts – Slick secondary roads can be expected in and around the Cedar City area as well as other towns across southwest Utah through Saturday morning. Areas of slush can also be expected along Interstate 15, particularly across the higher passes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions

A winter weather advisory means that snow accumulations will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads. Use caution while driving. Keep a winter storm survival kit in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
