ST. GEORGE — A play by the Pine View High School Panthers in its game against Juan Diego in the 3AA semifinals this week has been nominated by USA Today High School Sports as one of the top plays of the week in the nation. The Panthers pulled off last-second heroics in the 3AA semifinals Thursday afternoon at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City.
Pine View tied Juan Diego in the 3AA semifinals with an unbelievable final play when Kody Wilstead threw a 51-yard touchdown pass to Triston Duran with one second left in regulation, then delivered the tying two-point conversion toss to Jack Bangerterand. The Panthers would go on to win in overtime, 48-42, with the winning 14-yard toss to Colton Miller.
