SOUTHERN UTAH — The schedule has been released for this week’s quarterfinal football games involving all six 3AA South Region playoff teams. Make plans for early evening games as all four match-ups are evening games.
Top-seeded Dixie (8-2) will come off their playoff bye and face the same team the Flyers beat in Week 9, the Cedar Redmen (5-6). Dixie won that meeting up in Cedar City 41-0. Cedar earned the second-round game by beating Park City 23-13.
No. 2-seeded Pine View (7-2), also coming off of a playoff bye, will have gone 23 days between games by the time kickoff rolls around against the Hurricane Tigers (2-9). The Panthers last played Wednesday, Oct. 16 in a 32-3 win over Payson. Hurricane upset Bear River 38-26 last Friday to make it to the second round. The Tigers and Panthers met in Hurricane Oct. 10 with PV pulling out a 34-31 victory.
Third-seed Desert Hills (7-3) heads to Stansbury to take on the Stallions. DH beat Uintah 40-7 Friday to earn the quarterfinal game. Stansbury, the second seed from the 3AA North, had a bye Friday and enters the game at 7-3. The Thunder beat Stansbury 12-0 in the first game of the season back in August.
Snow Canyon (8-3) beat Tooele 38-9 in the first round and is into the quarterfinals with a trip to No. 1-ranked and undefeated Juan Diego. The Soaring Eagle (10-0) had a bye Friday and last played in a 52-7 win over Park City on Oct. 25.
All four games will be broadcast on local radio. The broadcasts (subject to change) are:

Hurricane at Pine View, 5 p.m. — 106.1 FM ESPN, Andy Griffin on play by play
Cedar at Dixie — 107.3 FM (St. George), Patrick Blake on play by play; 590 AM (Cedar City), Chris Holmes on play by play
Desert Hills at Stansbury — KDXU-890 AM, Devin Dixon on play by play
