ST. GEORGE – Police are investigating an alleged vehicle arson that occurred in St. George on Monday night.
A call came in around 9:45 p.m., Monday, reporting that the trunk of a Mitsubishi passenger car had been lit on fire in the area of 2000 West and 1600 North in St. George, St. George Police Sgt. Sam Despain said.
The trunk of the car was on fire but the car wasn’t fully engulfed, Despain said. There was $800 to $1,500 of damage to the vehicle.
Reportedly, there was enough evidence there for the victim to believe that the fire was intentionally set, Despain said.
The investigation is ongoing and the police are currently following up on a list of suspects.
