ENTERPRISE – A man was stabbed multiple times during a drunken altercation on the berm of state Route 18, just south of Enterprise, on Saturday.
Detective Nate Abbott of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said the incident was reported at around 6 p.m. on Saturday evening. The man had been brought to the Enterprise Medical Clinic by somebody who was at the scene when the stabbing occurred. The medical staff at the clinic notified the police.
The victim was transported by ambulance to Dixie Regional Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition, Abbott said.
“I don’t believe the injuries are life threatening,” said Abbot.
Miguel Angel Gamez was arrested later that same night in connection with the crime and charged with intoxication and aggravated assault, a second-degree felony, and is being held on $50,000 bail.
