ST. GEORGE – Art On Main returns to St. George this Friday for it’s Fall Gallery Stroll. The art walks are a beloved community event where all of the art galleries on Main Street and in Ancestor Square open their doors in the evening and welcome the community to get lost in the beauty. The event features food, live music, and drawings to win original works by some of the artists featured in the gallery showings.
The walk begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. The organizers suggest that walkers begin at the St. George Art Museum to view the new exhibit, “1954 LIFE Magazine’s Three Mormon Towns – Gunlock, St. George, and Toquerville,” featuring photography by Mark Hedengren, Dorthea Lange, and Maynard Dixon. Admission to the museum will be free during the art walk.
Visit each of nine fine art destinations enjoying a variety of live music, unique artwork, and the opportunity to meet many local professional artists, including fine art doll artists Shauna McCollough and painter Lisa Huber.
Musical artists on this year’s gallery stroll will include local singer-songwriters Christina Osborn and Jerry Allen, the folk duo Beanz N’ Wheels, and the Mesquite group Seldom Scene.
