Fighters face off at MMA event Saturday night at Dixie Center

ST. GEORGE — Fight fans can satisfy their thirst for action Saturday night as Crown Fighting Championships presents CFC 8, with nine fights scheduled at the Dixie Convention Center.

Headlining the event is Main Event professional fighters Eddie Jackson vs. “Mad” Mike Arrant. The co-Main Event features Oliver Parker against J.J. Mix.

Saturday’s events will feature a tailgate party, of sorts at the convention center.

“In the past, the ticketing process was done inside the Dixie Center and we opened the doors at 6 p.m. and the fights started at 7 p.m.,” said CFC director/promoter Aaron Reis. “This time we will be doing the ticketing process outside and the doors will open at 5 p.m. So come early, do some tailgating and visit our sponsors’ booths that will be set up outside as well as inside.”

Weigh-Ins are tonight at Iggy’s Sports Grill in St. George beginning at 6 p.m. CFC 8 tickets are $25 for general admission and $40 for V.I.P. Tickets at this late a date should be purchased at the door or fans can visit the CFC website at www.crownfights.com.

According to their website, “Crown Fighting Championships (CFC) is a local St. George-based company with over 15 years of experience in MMA.  From training and promoting local amateur and professional fighters, to supporting MMA events all over the USA, CFC is St. George’s premier MMA connection.

The undercard fights include Boostayre Nefarios vs. Dustin Chevalier, Rudy Cutnose vs. Rusty Pearson, Jeff Carson vs. Jud Marshall, Tyson Roberts vs. Ryan Phillips, Kyle Gilje vs. Baron Hollowell, William Collins vs. Matt Arrington and Chancy Call vs. Thomas Hughes.

Last year, about 2,000 fans watched the three-hour long event.
