ST. GEORGE — Dixie High went to 7-0 in region and won its eighth-straight soccer match with a 6-0 whitewashing of Pine View Thursday night.

dixie-smPine-view-smAubri Challis had a hat trick and Dixie also got goals from Addysen Smaellie, Alesa Winward and Tanner Gledhill. The Flyers led 2-0 at the half and really turned it on in the second half.

Liz Empey recorded her fourth shutout of the season, while Challis is among the leaders in the state with 10 goals in 11 games.

“She’s fantastic,” Dixie coach Burt Myers said of Challis. “I felt it when she was warming up. I said to myself, ‘ She’s on fire.’ Liz Empey has really come a long way this year and our whole back line played great defense.”

Dixie, 9-2-1 overall, plays at Snow Canyon next Tuesday. The Warriors, on a bye Thursday night, are in third place and have won three games in a row.
