Sen. Lee addresses Obama’s remarks on Syria

WASHINGTON D.C. — On Tuesday afternoon, Sen. Mike Lee issued the following statement regarding President Obama’s remarks on Syria:

“The president has not convinced Americans that the Syrian civil war represents a vital national security threat to the United States. Neither has he adequately explained how the U.S. would achieve the limited objectives his plan seeks to accomplish. According to the administration, even after the limited military action, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad would continue to have access to the chemical weapon stockpile and the ability to carry out further attacks. My greatest concern remains the likelihood that approved strike would leave Assad in power with access to these weapons and lead our country further into war. The better path for the president would be to continue to work with our allies to secure Syria’s chemical weapons and ensure they do not proliferate throughout the region.”

I see that Mike Lee issued his statement before the President’s speech last night. It just shows that Mikey will always say “no” to anything President Obama proposes without even listening to the President. What a waste of a senator!

I wish Lee was President instead of what we have and are stuck with now.

Finally! Something I can agree with Senator Lee about. As I was leaving the movie The Butler, a woman was commenting that it was a good movie but didn’t end very well – I can only imagine because President Obama was elected president after 60+ years of civil rights efforts documented in the movie. She apparently missed the point of the movie: a black man should be able to make mistakes just like white ones!

It’s a shame that when someone like me tries to inform people of the truth behind much of this stuff, they just ignore it or dnt care or think it’s crazy. Wake up people. The rebels that Assad is fighting are U.S. funded. And Assad didn’t use chemical weapons. The rebels did. The latest topic of allowing them to keep a stockpile is a misdirection thst is supposed to make you believe since he has them, that he used them. The U.S. govt has chemical weapons also. Are we going to give up ours? I welcome debate on this and mostly history to let you understand what’s going on. It’s not what you think.
