HURRICANE – The Hurricane Valley Choir will begin rehearsals for its winter session on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Hurricane Community Center, and is searching for interesting singers to join its membership.
The choir enjoys singing a wide variety of choral literature, from sacred to secular and jazz to folk. The winter session focuses on seasonal holiday music, with a Christmas concert in December.
All interested singers are invited to participate, but it is expected that they have some basic understanding of music with a desire to learn more. Each participant purchases their own music for the concert session, which will be available at rehearsals for $20. Weekly rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Hurricane Community Center.
The Hurricane Valley Choir was created in October 2007 by the Hurricane Valley Arts Alliance to offer an opportunity for local singers of all ages to participate in a quality community choir. June Jeffery will serve as musical director for the upcoming session, with Camille McCausland as choir director and accompanist. To learn more about the choir, contact McCausland at 435-635-4339 or [email protected].
