IVINS – For the third consecutive year, the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the City of Ivins Director of Finance, Alan Rae, by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.
“The award means a great deal to me because it is a rare accomplishment, particularly in this area,” Rae said. “Most local governments do not put the effort into preparing a comprehensive annual financial report. I am expected to provide a level of service to the City of Ivins that is not common. When you operate at a consistently high level of performance, it gives a great deal of confidence to everyone that you work with and ultimately makes doing your job easier and more satisfying.”
Rae has also received the association’s Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award and Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. These awards are the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting; attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The Government Finance Officers Association is a nonprofit professional organization serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals in two countries, with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
