Winchester, surrounding areas lose power

WINCHESTER HILLS – Residents of Winchester Hills and the surrounding area were left without power for 11 hours Tuesday. Power was restored to most by early afternoon, while others had to wait a while longer.

Margarat Oler, spokeswoman for Rocky Mountain Power, said 340 costumers were without power after an underground piece of equipment, an elbow, failed. A work crew was dispatched to fix the problem, due to the elbow being buried the problem took longer to fix.

Underground issues are fairly lengthy,” Oler said.

Power was restored to 330 of the customers by 12:41 p.m. However, ten homes, those nearest to the failed equipment, Oler said, didn’t see power return until 2:24 p.m.
