Boy Scout Letter to the Editor: See you at the movies

ST. GEORGE – To kick off the summer, the Larry H. Miller Megaplex Theater is doing a 12-week summer movie program for kids at Pineview Stadium 10 and the Cinema 6 theater on Main Street. Each week they show a different movie, Monday – Friday they show the same movie at 10 a.m.  Monday–Wednesday at  Pineview and Thursday-Friday at the Cinema 6.

As a typical kid looking for fun things to do in summer, I have been going weekly and I have noticed that this is a great way to get the community members out with their family enjoying good, family friendly movies. All kids need to be accompanied so it has been fun for me to go with my mom or my gramma.

This is not the first time this program has been offered. One thing that has changed this year is that Megaplex is offering a 12-punch pass card for $12 or individual tickets for $1 at the door. Last year the cost was $20 for the same amount of movies. It is now more affordable for big families.

We are in the fourth week now and the movie is “Ice Age Continental Drift.” So far, the attendance is greater than I would have guessed and the crowds seem to be very excited for the movies.

The Summer Movie Program offers a very wide range of movies with title like “Horton Hears a Who”, “Shark Tales” and “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days”.

So as you can see with this summer movie program there is a good mix of newer movies with some favorite classics as well. If you go to http://pages.olwm.com/megaplextheatres/summerflyer.pdf , you can see the full schedule for the movies this summer. Or click here: Megaplex Summer Flyer | STGnews.

So go get your pass and some popcorn and I will see you at the movies!
