St. George man arrested, charged with rape

ST. GEORGE – A St. George man was arrested for rape Friday, following an investigation into a sexual assault reported on May 19.

St. George Police Department Sgt. Sam Despain said that the victim had identified William Rodger Kelly, 50, as the perpetrator after the assault. The SGPD has been investigating since and developed enough probable cause to arrest him.

Kelly was taken into custody just before 4 p.m. on Friday and booked into Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility on a first-degree felony count. Bail stands at $25,000.

Washington County Attorney Brock Belnap said that charges were filed Monday morning. His first court appearance is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday.

The investigation is still active.

    I hope they keep him locked up! He and his son are both rapists.

    When you find a person that needs medical attention call for medical attention do not take her inside your home and rape her until she dies ?? Then panic and call 911
    He did not save her life the police officer saved her life that arrived on the scene get the facts correct !!!!
