ST. GEORGE – The driver of a vehicle that demolished two yards in a hit-and-run accident early Monday morning has been arrested on multiple charges.
At approximately 2:15 a.m. on Monday, a vehicle crashed through the yards of two houses in the vicinity of 1200 North 1500 West in St. George. Both yards sustained damage, along with the vehicle.
“(He) crashed through mine and my neighbor’s yards and ran into my car, which was parked in the driveway,” witness Angie Watts said. “He tore off his rim and door.”
The driver, a 23-year-old St. George man, fled the scene and was later apprehended by St. George Police Department officers, SGPD Sgt. Sam Despain said. He was arrested for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident and was booked into Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility on $2,000 bail.
