MOHAVE COUNTY, Ariz.– A minor accident on the Arizona stretch of Interstate 15 impacted northbound traffic Sunday.

Arizona Highway Patrol Sgt. John Bottoms said a truck and trailer apparently jackknifed on northbound I-15 around milepost 20 and blocked the right traffic lane around 4:21 p.m. An AHP trooper was on the scene, as well as a Mohave County Sheriff deputy.

A chain was attached to the trailer in order to pull it into a more manageable position, Bottoms said, but either due to the trailer’s weight or the elevation of the roadway, the trailer came off the chain and smashed into the Mohave County Sheriff deputy’s SUV.

The incident was cleared by 7:30 p.m.

No injuries were reported in connection with the crash.
