Police search for assault suspect in St. George

ST. GEORGE – Police are seeking a man involved in a home burglary and assault Monday morning.

The St. George Communications Center received a 911 call of a residential burglary in progress. Officers responded to the area of 1000 East between Tabernacle and 100 South in St. George at a residence housing four females.

It was reported one of the females was awakened by an unknown male intruder standing over her.  The suspect assaulted the female by grabbing onto her neck.  She resisted the male while another female roommate was awakened and attempted to intervene and help her roommate.

The suspect assaulted this second female causing a laceration to her head.  The suspect left the residence and at this time his whereabouts are unknown.

The suspect was described as a white male, 5 foot 9 inches tall, thin, with scruffy blond hair and some facial hair, dark clothes and a dark zip-up hoodie.  There is very little suspect information at this time.

The St. George Police Department responded to the scene.  It appears the male suspect entered through an unlocked front door.  One female was transported to the hospital to treat a small laceration to her head.

The victims in this case do not know who the intruder was and are cooperating with detectives.  It appears that nothing was taken from the residence.

This is an active investigation and detectives are following up on possible leads.

Time to look into a concealed carry permit, or in this case just a gun for your protection.

Have the police released any more information on this?

Another good example of people foolishly making it easy for someone to get into their home. Why wasn’t the door locked!
That being said, I do hope the cops catch this punk. Or maybe even better, family members of the victim catch him!
