PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Arizona Department of Transportation, in association with the Federal Highway Administration, is holding a public hearing on the proposed Virgin River Bridge Project and citizens are invited to comment.
The project will potentially rehabilitate Virgin River Bridge No. 6 near milepost 15 on Interstate-15 in the heavily traveled Virgin River Gorge that connects Arizona, Utah and Nevada. ADOT received a $21.6 million grant from FHWA to complete it.
ADOT and FHWA are holding a public hearing April 10 in Littlefield, Ariz. that will provide information on the potential environmental impacts of the proposed project and give citizens an opportunity to comment on its draft environmental assessment. Project representatives will be available to discuss the recommended proposed project and potential impacts, and a court reporter will record the proceedings and public comments.
The public is welcome to read the environmental assessment and submit comments prior to the hearing. For more information on the process, visit the I-15 Bridge website.
