Shirley Anne Wright
August 22, 1934 – Feb 18, 2013

Shirley (Foster) Wright passed away peacefully the morning of February 18 at the age of 78. Shirley was the devoted wife of her late husband Ray Wright of Ogden, UT, and is survived by her two loving children Cindy Flaherty Wingo of Seattle, WA and David Flaherty of Tiburon, CA, their spouses, four grandchildren and her brother Fred Foster of St. George, UT. She is pre- deceased by her sister Barbara Smithson and her brother Donald Foster.

Shirley was born and raised in El Cerrito, CA, graduated from Richmond High School and lived in the San Francisco Bay Area most of her life. She moved to Saint George, UT after retiring from the Chevron Research Corp. in Richmond, CA. One of the highlights of retirement life in St. George for Shirley was adopting her adorable and faithful companion, a Bichon Frise named Shelby.

Shirley lived in Seattle, WA after she was widowed and enjoyed making new friends and being near family. All who knew Shirley will miss her bright smile that lit up every room she entered, her quick wit and infectious sense of humor. She always treated everyone she met as a friend and made everyone always feel welcome in her home and community.

A celebration of Shirley’s life with immediate family members is scheduled for the spring.
