Task Force nets more arrests for drug possession, distribution

ST. GEORGE – A man and woman were arrested for the possession and distribution of methamphetamine following a raid on a suspected drug distribution location.

On the evening of Feb. 28, the Washington County Drug Task Force and St. George Police Department served a search warrant on a residence at 2019 East Middleton Drive in St. George.

“This investigation stems from information the task force acted on regarding the distribution of methamphetamine from this location,” SGPD Capt. Kyle Whitehead said.

The residence was occupied by a woman, juvenile and child, and four adults were in a shed in the backyard at the time the warrant was served. Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found in the residence, while methamphetamine, marijuana, mushrooms and drug paraphernalia were found in the shed. The juvenile and child were removed from the residence and later released into the custody of family members, and two arrests were made.

A 34-year-old woman from St. George was arrested on possession and distribution of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, and a 32-year-old man from Alton was arrested on possession and distribution of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana, mushrooms and drug paraphernalia. Both were booked into Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility on bail exceeding $20,000 each.

Ed. note: Persons arrested are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
