LEEDS – A truck or SUV-type vehicle pulling a camper-trailer northbound on Interstate 15 just south of Leeds ran into difficulty at 5:30 p.m. today when his trailer began to whip back and forth.
The truck and trailer went off the right shoulder of I-15 northbound, Cpl. Todd Johnson of the Utah Highway Patrol said.
“The trailer caught the guard rail and then it separated,” he said. “The camper trailer was just ripped open – they’re not very strong – and the truck rolled over.”
Johnson said the driver was the only occupant and had minor injuries.
“They transported him to St. George by ambulance,” Johnson said.
The accident is still under investigation and Johnson did not have full report yet from troopers on scene with information about the driver.
He said traffic was not impeded and no citations have been issued and causes have not yet been identified.
