SANTA CLARA – Clare Lorin Reber, 88, passed away Feb 8, 2013, after a valiant battle of ill health. He was born Jan 16, 1925, to Lorin and Lila Hafen Reber in Santa Clara, Utah. He married the love of his life MaryLynn Woodbury on Oct 9, 1943, in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple.
He graduated from Dixie High School, served in World War II in the South Pacific. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a faithful home teacher and served with love and devotion for many years.
Clare was always a trucker and farmer with his family. He drove long haul from the Midwest to California in the best looking trucks. The Beryl Desert became his summer home working on the farm always growing the best alfalfa, grain and potatoes. In 1980 Clare and MaryLynn began spending the next 22 summers building their own oasis in Hatch, Utah. Winters were spent golfing at Bloomington Country Club.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years MaryLynn, children; Clarelynn (Ron) Jones; Gai (Randy) Bowler; Marlo (Sherri) Reber; and Melanie Reber; 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild and another on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Helen Hansen.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 11, 2013, at high noon in the Santa Clara Chapel, 3040 W. Santa Clara Dr., Santa Clara, Utah. Visitations will be held Sunday, February 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Santa Clara Chapel, and Monday, February 11, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Santa Clara Chapel, prior to services. Interment will be in the Santa Clara City Cemetery, Santa Clara, Utah.
