Letter to the Editor: Affirmation of Choice Gathering, anniversary of Roe v Wade; invitation to assemble

LETTER TO THE EDITOR – January 22, 2013, is the 40th Anniversary of the Supreme Court’s ruling on Roe v Wade which gave women the right to control their own bodies. Every year some folks demonstrate in front of Planned Parenthood in St. George against this ruling.

The Affirmation of Choice Gathering provides a voice for those in the community who wish to affirm the Supreme Court decision and reproductive freedom. Please join with us as we gather from 10 am – 12 noon and again from 4-6 p.m. on the sidewalk at the corner of Bluff and 600 S. on Tuesday, January 22, 2013.

The Affirmation of Choice Gathering is a non-confrontational opportunity to remind our community about the importance of reproductive freedom and choice for all women.  Bring a sign if you wish; the internet has many pro-choice slogans if you need ideas.

Perhaps if people took responsibility for their actions, and kept their pants on, this legal murder wouldn’t be necessary.

Please tell that to the thousands of women every year who get pregnant as a result of rape or incest. I’m sure they will agree with you.
