A fire on a hill in the vicinity of Sky Ranch was reported to the St. George Communications Center around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. High winds were initially reported in the area and fire crews had to hike between 200-300 feet uphill in order to fight the blaze.

Between three and four acres were burned and nearly contained when high winds returned and began to spread the fire anew. Despite the winds, the fire was contained at 7:05 p.m.

The fire is suspected to be human-caused and an investigation is slated to begin Thursday morning.

No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported in connection with the fire.
