SOUTHERN UTAH – The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for heavy snow in effect until 9 a.m. MST Wednesday.
* Affected area: Sanpete and Sevier valleys, west central and southwest Utah.
* Snow accumulations: Additional accumulation 2 to 5 inches.
* Timing: A broad area of heavy snow will continue to work slowly southeast through these areas overnight. Snow will taper off early Wednesday morning. Then turn showery with little additional accumulation late Wednesday morning and afternoon.
* Impacts: Winter weather conditions will make travel extremely difficult into early Wednesday. All area roadways will be impacted, including Interstate 15, I-70 and Highway 89 across central and southwest Utah.
Precautionary/preparedness actions:
A winter storm warning means significant accumulations of snow are expected or occurring. Driving conditions may be hazardous. Use caution. Keep a winter storm survival kit in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
