Lea May Jones

 

ENTERPRISE – Lea May Hunt Jones, 93, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2012, at the Kolob Care Center in St. George, Utah.  She was born May 15, 1919 in Enterprise, Utah to Nephi and Lydia Barlocker Hunt.  She married Jessie W. Jones on January 2, 1937 in Cedar City, Utah.  The marriage was late solemnized in the St. George Temple.

Lea May enjoyed a wonderful childhood growing up in Enterprise.  She was her Father’s best helper on the farm, and loved the outdoors. She could ride a horse, and milk a cow with the best of them.  She was known as the fastest foot-racer in Washington County, and won every race against men or women at the county fairs.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints, and filled all of her callings in the gospel with a spirit of love and dedication. She was a patient and loving Mother, and every Child and Grandchild knew that they were her “Favorite”.

She is survived by 3 Sons and 3 Daughters, Lorene (Richard) Truman, Raelene (Marvin) Hall, Rickey (Denise) Jones all of Enterprise, Bobby (Darleen) Jones, Rudy (Janis) Jones of Ogden, Utah, and Deanna (Derril) Laub of Humansville, Missouri.  She is also survived by one Sister, Lovella Thomas, Enterprise, and her Brother, Anthony (Joyce) Hunt of Ogden. She will be loved and missed by her Children, 35 Grandchildren, 163 Great Grandchildren, and 32 Great-Great- Grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her Husband, Jessie, a Son Denny, and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren, also 3 Sisters, Ina Tait, Darlean Jones, and Vennetta Webster preceded her in death.

The Family would like to express their many Thanks to the Staff of Kolob Care Center, for the love and service they gave our Mother for the past 9 years, and also to the Staff from Zion’s Way Hospice for their recent service.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Enterprise LDS Stake Center, 80 South Center Street, Enterprise, Utah. A visitation will be held from 9:00  to 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the Stake Center. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
