SPRINGDALE – An accident earlier this month has left a young boy in critical condition and his family in desperate need of financial and emotional support.
On Nov. 7, four-year-old Alexzander Fahrenkamp was severely injured in a tragic accident at his family’s home in Hurricane. He sustained second and third-degree burns to more than 50 percent of his body, including his arms, legs and abdomen. He was transported via Life Flight to the Trauma 1 Burn Center in Las Vegas, and remains in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
His long road to recovery will entail over 20 surgeries, skin grafts and months in the hospital. Parents Jordan and John Fahrenkamp, the latter of whom sustained second-degree burns to both hands in the accident, are living in Las Vegas until their son is well enough to return home. They are documenting his progress in their blog Prayers for Alexzander and via a Facebook page.
The family does not have health insurance, and John Fahrenkamp is unable to work due to his injuries. They will need all the help they can get in bringing their son home, happy and healthy. Donations can be made in three ways: Online, by visiting any branch of US Bank and donating to the account of John H. Fahrenkamp or Monday at the Zion Pizza & Noodle fundraiser.
Located along the scenic Zion Park Boulevard in Springdale, Zion Pizza & Noodle will open at 4 p.m. to serve a pay-what-you-can dinner. 100 percent of the day’s profits will be given directly to the Fahrenkamps. Patrons can enjoy good food while helping this wonderful family.
